WELCOME
Gene Batter welcomed everyone and thanked them for volunteering.
Mark
made a motion to approve the minutes, Doug seconded. Minutes from July 2003 were unanimously
approved.
League
Commissioner’s Reports:
Regional
Commissioner, Gene Batter stated that the Elementary Schools will be charging
fee for use of their fields and they are requesting that the fees be paid
upfront. Since this request is last
minute and we have not budgeted for this, we are not adhering to their request. If any coach decides to comply with their
request, they are on their own without Board support.
Gene
also asked that Board members not wear their Board shirts when coaching, but
encouraged everyone to wear their shirts at all other times to be identified in
the event that parents/players need help.
Gene
Batter, speaking on behalf of Brian Kersten, Regional
Referee Administrator, stated that since we are a week and a half away from
games, we need all referees to sign up and take the class.
Treasurer’s
Report:
Rand Potter handed out a cash flow report to Board members. He stated that there is a little over $107,000 in checking and savings.
Coaches
Training/Safe Haven:
Doug
stated that the coach training is complete.
There were 22 people in attendance at the last training. Doug has an updated coach’s log on what the
coaches have/have been trained on.
Currently, we have 174 head coaches and only 1 has not attended
training. Also, Safe Haven class is
September 3rd/4th and this is the last class. A letter was sent out to all Division
Coordinators informing them of who needs to attend Safe Haven.
U16/U19
Update:
U16/U19
started playing games on August 23rd and we started out with 66
players, and then ended up with 55. As a
result, one of the teams had to be broken up.
Gene Batter sent out a letter to all families informing them of what
happened.
To Do List:
*The
field at Fiesta Meadows has been lined and Gene asked all Board members and
coaches not to use the goal lines.
Please push the goals back while at practice.
*Gene
asked all Board members for help in lining fields. Sunday, August 31st at
*Gene
reminded everyone that the referee barbeque is September 5th.
*Gene
asked for help in moving the AYSO storage box from Laurie Meadows to Fiesta
Meadows.
*Picture
Day for referees/Board Members/Coaches is Sunday, September 6th at
*Gene
asked that the Division Coordinators remind coaches to put team # on picture
envelopes and hand out to parents on September 6th.
Gene
informed the Board that he is purchasing 2 new EZ Ups.
VIP League
Update:
Jack
Coyne explained that the VIP program is a soccer league for severally handicap
children ranging in age from 4˝ to 22.
They play soccer at Bayside every Saturday from
Coaches Gift
from National Sponsors:
Gene
showed the Board a coaches gift that came form one of
the National Sponsors Hyundai. The gift
is a portfolio that turns into a ball bag and has a whistle and ball pump
inside. These gifts from will be handed out to coaches on Picture Day.

Ratings:

and Willy will review the player ratings forms for this year to present at a
later meeting.
